100 Years of Naval Aviation

In honor of the 100^th Anniversary of Naval Aviation, I was commissioned to create eight short films throughout the year of celebration.

During these interviews, I often felt that I was in the presence of something beautiful & noble.  The men & women of Naval Aviation embody the courage, honor, & dedication I aspire to.  I received a new-found respect for those who have given themselves to protect my family.  After these interviews, the scripts for these films poured out in their finished form within a few hours.

From the beginning of this project, it was my desire to avoid the ground that has been tread in countless documentaries.  Rather than focus on what had CHANGED in Naval Aviation’s 100 year history, I wanted to focus on what has remained the SAME.  The legacy of Naval Aviation is founded on core values that have never wavered.  By concentrating on these core values, these films reveal universal truths about the men & women of Naval Aviation.  And the films resonate with aviators of every era, from World War II to modern day.

This film was the opening of the kick-off celebration.

I am proud to have participated in this moment in history.
